Ladies Learning Code: Intro to HTML and CSS

Ladies Learning Code’s Edmonton Chapter starts up again on January 25, 2014 by offering their Intro to HTML and CSS workshop via WITT (Women in Technology and Trades) at NAIT. Tickets are available here: llchtmlcssyegjan25.eventbrite.ca

“If you’re looking to get your feet wet when it comes to programming, this is the workshop for you. HTML and CSS are the backbone of all websites, and knowledge of them is a necessity if you are interested in things like web development, creating email newsletters, or even blogging!”

What is HTML and CSS?

HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language and CSS stands for Cascading Stylesheets, both of which are the core programming languages used to build web pages. HTML code provides the framework of the website, while CSS code helps to style the visual layout.

How can it benefit using WordPress?

Basic understanding of HTML and CSS can give you additional options when formatting blog posts, template pages, and even plugins. If you were to create your own theme or provide custom designs to your stylesheets, you need HTML and CSS programming knowledge. You can also extend your knowledge for working with WordPress with Ladies Learning Code’s WordPress for Beginners workshop later this spring!

Already know HTML and CSS?
